Sangam to file cases against ex-honchos
Chennai: The newly formed Nadigar Sangam committee passed a resolution Sunday to take action against three former key office bearers — president Sarath Kumar, secretary Radha Ravi and treasurer Vagai Chandrashekar — by filing a case at the Economic Offences wing of the TN police.
Despite having been given three months, the former honchos have failed to submit accounts with proof of proper documents for the 2014-2015 accounts of the Nadigar Sangam and 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 for Nadigar Sangam Charitable Trust.
Another important resolution passed at the EC meeting was to cancel all the agreements made between SPI Cinemas and the Nadigar Sangam Charitable Trust under the previous regime.
The newly formed Nadigar Sangam committee, headed by president Nasser, also paid homage on the 99th birth anniversary of actor-politician MGR, former Tamil Nadu CM and one of the pioneers who started the actors association.
The 4th Executive Committee meeting of the SIAA met at the Nadigar Sangam's premises for the first time since 2011.
The committee also thanked Ponvannan, vice president, for his idea of creating the Gurudatchanai programme through which database of all the
members have been successfully collated by members like Kovai Sarala, Pasupathy, ‘Poochi’ Murugan etc. Treasurer of SIAA, Karthi, submitted book
of accounts of Nadigar Sangam and its Charitable Trust for the last month.
