New Delhi: Electronics manufacturing major Foxconn is looking to scale up its presence in India to new states within six months.

“We are looking at expanding our presence to a few more states in the next few months, probably a couple of quarters,” Foxconn India country head and MD Josh Foulger said on sidelines of China-India Mobile Phone and Component Manufacturing Summit here.

Foxconn, at present, has facility in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and is in the process of setting up a new plant in Maharashtra with an investment of $5 billion.

“Chairman (Terry Gou) has made a commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen Make in India. Within six months of that commitment, our facilities have been in place and we are now employing about 6,000 people,” he said.
