Does horoscope help in selecting career and profession: Dr. Vinay Bajrangi

A careful analysis of the Tenth House of your horoscope is the pillar planet that we see for your career selection

Career is the most significant aspect of any person's life as it gives them the direction that they should take for the rest of their lives. Don't get surprised if I tell you that the right career also helps a person in many other aspects of life like Marriage, family apart from deciding the person's social status. That is where I say one should be very careful choosing a career at the very first stage itself, and it starts with selecting the right education subject.

A proper career selection depends on the natural skills & interest of a person vetted through what your birth chart indicates as the best career for you. A careful analysis of the Tenth House of your horoscope is the pillar planet that we see for your career selection, says Dr. Vinay Bajrangi, one of the best astrologers in India. The main excerpts of these discussions are given as below:

Why career predictions go wrong?

I appreciate such a blunt question from an astrologer but never mind as it comes with lot of clarifications. Horoscope is a blue print to all your life decisions. It indicates what you did in your previous birth(s) along with what is the purpose of birth in the present life. Advising on right Career and marrying the right person are two of the most difficult topics of astrology as I find. But then many failing in the career and reasons of more marriages failing also becomes the biggest question mark on astrologers. I Am not saying Astrology but astrologers. And why it happens is primarily when you select a novice or the astrologer proceeds with inaccurate birth time. If you can yourself ensure that you judge the right astrologer & astrologer analyses your horoscope with accurate birth time it will surely help person selecting right career and profession. Otherwise there are bright chances that the predictions will go wrong be it career or anything else.

How to choose a good career through astrology?

Dr. Vinay Bajrangi – A good career can easily be revealed with the help of a professional astrological consultation. There is no doubt that through astrology, you can find out which profession to select. The correct way to understand this process is by realizing that it isn't just planets that have a role in selecting your professional career. Apart from the planets, your sign, the Nakshatras, and the planets' position vis-a-vis the D-10 and D-60 charts guide your career. Let me share an example with you – Once a client approached me who was governed by Venus. He had opened a jewellery business as he was told earlier that Venus signified a career in this direction. Despite putting in 5 years' worth of effort, that person didn't succeed, or rather, didn't meet the desired success. When I analysed his horoscope, I found that the earlier reading was flawed. When I read his horoscope for business yoga, and it was clear that there was no clear-cut indication for business. In the first stage itself, I would have advised him "not to go jewellry business," as I could see that he would not succeed in business for the next 30 years.

At the time of consultation, that person was 27 years of age & I knew till 57 years of age, he wasn't going to get the Mahadasha of Venus. Mahadasha of a planet is necessary for a person to follow the career guided by that planet. Once I completed the study of his horoscope, including the 10th House in tandem with the 7th House (Dashamansha & Shashtimansha), I was able to deduce that he would succeed in the catering profession, only after turning 31 years of age. He had to start at a low-paying job initially because he had no experience in the catering industry. But within two years, he became manager at a nice restaurant. I strongly believe that by the age of 35, that person will have his own restaurant business. Choosing the right career can make your destiny for life. Therefore, reach a professional astrologer who knows to study the 2nd, 6th, and 10th houses in your birth chart.

Which is the main House for career?

DVB – The House that governs your career and profession is the 10th House. Besides, the 7th House is known as the "secondary house of profession." Therefore, when the 7th House is stronger than the 10th House, the native should pursue the profession as attributed to by the 7th House. Besides the D-1 chart, another chart responsible for identifying a suitable career/profession is the D-10 or Dashamansha Chart. For clear-cut indications of the profession or vogue suitable for you, an astrologer needs to read the Dashamansha Chart along with the D-1 or Lagna Chart. I don't put much emphasis on the vogue or the profession. I, instead, focus on the profitability arising out of pursuing a particular profession or career. In my opinion, that should be the true measure of the success of an individual's career choice. If an individual doesn't achieve desirable success or profit in his chosen profession, it may lead to depression and negativity. This negativity, in turn, may end up activating the moon. Therefore, either way, it is essential to get an astrological reading done of your birth-chart/horoscope, before picking up a profession. Get a learned astrologer to read the D-1 chart in tandem with the D-10 & D-60 charts and ask him to point out the career or profession that will satisfy you economically as well as mentally.

Second House The second House is the Dhan Yoga or House of Wealth and it indicates the receipt of money through all means. This includes your salary, borrowed funds, profits from investment or selling something.

Sixth House The sixth House in your horosocpe is the House of Debt or "Rina Bhav". It portrays the funds you have received through an applied loan, or a debt that is repaid to you.

Seventh House The seventh House represents any possible partnerships or business and reading opportunities. Additionally, this House also dictates predictions regarding the nature of company partnerships.

Tenth House Your tenth House holds Karma Bhava, or House of Career and Profession. It decides your vocation & it is mainly responsible for your job and career prospects.

Why is Career Counselling different from Career Guidance?

DVB – Most astrologers, especially those wet behind the ears, will find this question quite tricky to deal with. Let me start by admitting that there is, indeed, a very thin line between career guidance and career counselling. While guidance is a one-way process, counselling is a two-way street, which requires both give and take between the astrologer and his client. When an individual is clear about which area to study and which career to choose, he needs just guidance to refine. But if a person is unclear about both or is under some influence from the society, family, or peers, he needs to be steered clear from that influence. These type of persons need career counselling. It is seen that any kind of influence is always detrimental to your decision-making powers.

Can we say Astrology is really helpful in career selection/guidance?

DVB – Good education is the precursor to a successful career. An able astrologer and a sensible client would start at that. The 5th House of your horoscope dictates your excellence in education, and the 7th House predicts your final qualification. The 10th House guides you regarding your career choice. Additionally, the 11th House denotes the House of income. So, you see, every aspect of your horoscope is inter-connected and inter-dependent. So, it doesn't matter if you are seeking astrological advice for yourself or anybody else; make sure that the concerned astrologer is an expert in career advice. Only an able astrologer will be able to analyse your horoscope correctly through 5th to 11th houses, before doling out the right advice.

Can astrology predict when will a person get the job?

DVB – A career astrologer can predict your joblessness in the future. But a competent career astrologer can even predict how long you will remain jobless. This is done through a simple calculation of transits between the Nakshatras. This study also helps a career astrologer predict your job prospects' possible outcome, whether past, present or future. One can get predictions for a job using astrology with in-depth study of Sun, Saturn, Jupiter, and, more importantly, the impact of their transits & Pratyari Nakshatras.

The career selection for an individual is guided by his/her date of birth or zodiac sign. Even if you do not consult an astrologer, your career will continue to be guided as thus. Therefore, many a time it happens that a man or a woman ends up in a profession that is unsuitable to their temperament or horoscope. Once you identify that you are not in the career meant for you, you can consult a competent career astrologer for guidance or counselling, whatever the case may be. You need a wholesome astrology consultation if you are not getting a job. You will find the answer to your joblessness in the anals of Vedic Astrology.

Can we get predictions for govt job also?

DVB – Your birth-chart/horoscope dictates all the major aspects of your life and career, including your prospects regarding a government job. Once your astrologer starts analysing your horoscope, he/she will start with ascertaining your correct date, time and place of birth. However, you need to know that despite having the yogas for both govt. and private job in the birth-chart, an individual may still find it difficult to get the govt. job because of the absence of an active Dhan Yog. Specific zodiac signs like Aries, Leo and Sagittarius make you a likely winner of a govt. job, especially if these are strongly placed in your horoscope.

Does horoscope indicate promotion and issues in job also?

DVB – One question that often troubles individuals, whether in a govt. job or a private one, when I should expect a promotion at work. Astrological analysis is fully capable of predicting your success, achievements and promotion prospects in a job. Your promotion depends upon a planet's position in your horoscope, particularly with respect of "Mahadasha" and "Antardasha"! The most important aspect of your horoscope, in terms of the timing of the promotion, is the planetary transits. For instance, if the Lords of 6th and 10th houses for a relationship with a beneficial planet, or if the 9th, 10th and 11th houses are in favourable alignment with their respective lords, you have a strong chance of getting promotion in your chosen career.

What is the role of transits in career?

DVB – I will use an example to answer this question. One of the most significant planets in our horoscope is Saturn, which signifies the result of our Karmas in our current life. This planet shows its best influence only when it is transiting through the 3rd, 6th, 10th or 11th House from the natal moon. In case the Saturn is transiting on the 3rd House, it will result in a person earning quite well even if he or she is in an unsuitable profession as per career astrology. On the contrary, if Saturn deviates from the 3rd House to the 4th House, the resulting income or success from an unsuitable profession may not be as good as in the previous case. In this way, a planet's transit, both in good or bad direction, has a significant role to play in a person's career prospects. But remember, selecting a career per se is not dependent on the transit of planets. Transit of planets can affect the fruits of our karmas only, not our future.

Can astrology predict time for job change also?

-DVB – It is easy to deduce, as per astrology, why or whether you change jobs mid-way! You must have seen a writer who is a qualified engineer or a stand-up comedian who worked as an accountant earlier. Now a qualified engineer or an accountant also earns an income and can continue doing so, then why should (s)he shift from one career path to another? Their passion, of course! But beyond that, it is that person's horoscope, made from the date of birth, which also has an impact to a certain extent. There is a hidden "Dhan Yog" (wealth prospects) in your horoscope, which denotes the level of your income. The 5th, 7th, 10th, and 11th houses of your birth-chart/horoscope also deal with the different aspects of your education, career, success, and income. The date of birth does affect the career path of a person, but it is only discernible after a detailed, exhaustive study of that person's horoscope.
