Hyderabad DEO Reviews Progress of SIR-2026 with Political Parties

During the meeting, the representatives raised issues relating to voter awareness, availability of BLOs, collection of Enumeration Forms, and digitization centres

Hyderabad: The District Election Officer (DEO) and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Monday chaired the weekly review meeting with representatives of recognized political parties to review the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026.

The DEO briefed the representatives on the status of house-to-house enumeration, collection and digitization of Enumeration Forms, and emphasized the importance of close coordination among Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Booth Level Agents (BLAs), and political parties to ensure that every eligible elector is covered.

During the meeting, the representatives raised issues relating to voter awareness, availability of BLOs, collection of Enumeration Forms, and digitization centres.

The DEO directed the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to strengthen voter awareness through Tom-Tom and SAT Auto publicity, ensure prompt response by BLOs and BLO Supervisors to citizens and political party representatives, and strictly adhere to the Election Commission of India's guidelines.

He reiterated that no document, including Aadhaar Card, shall be insisted upon or collected along with the Enumeration Form. The DEO further instructed that all BLOs and BLO Supervisors remain available in their assigned field areas from 8 am to 8 pm throughout the enumeration period. EROs/AEROs were also directed to furnish updated lists of BLOs, BLO Supervisors, and designated centres for collection and digitization of enumeration forms during the weekly meetings with political parties.

The DEO invited suggestions from the representatives and assured that all genuine issues would be addressed promptly in accordance with the Election Commission of India guidelines.
