Sources say the boy band's members have not yet renewed their contracts.

Despite reassuring their fans that their “hiatus” in 2016 was not a permanent break, sources are now claiming that boy band One Direction’s Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne are indeed calling it quits, with none of them renewing their contracts.
A source told Us Weekly, “The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers.”
The source added that the four decided “not to renew their recording contract” after Zayn Malik left the band in August last year, and that while the others would pursue solo musical efforts, Harry would also be focusing on a career in Hollywood.
