Hyderabad: Train services under the South Central Railway (SCR) were severely hit on Thursday following heavy rains that caused water to overflow on tracks in the Bhiknur–Talmadla and Akanpet–Medak sections of the Hyderabad Division. The SCR announced multiple cancellations, diversions, and partial cancellations of passenger trains.
Cancellations:
Eight trains, including Kacheguda–Nizamabad (77643), Medak–Kacheguda (57302), Kacheguda–Nagarsol (07055), Nagarsol–Kacheguda (07056), Kacheguda–Purna (77605), Kacheguda–Medak (77603), Medak–Kacheguda (77604), and Bodhan–Kacheguda (57414), stand cancelled on August 28 and 29.
Diversions:
CST Mumbai–Lingampalli (17057) on Aug. 27 diverted via Nizamabad–Armoor–Karimnagar–Peddapalli bypass–Kazipet–Secunderabad, skipping Nizamabad–Secunderabad section.
Amravati–Tirupati (12766) and Narkher–Kacheguda (17642) on Aug. 28 diverted via Purna–Parli–Vikarabad–Secunderabad–Kacheguda, skipping the Purna–Kacheguda stretch.
Lingampalli–CST Mumbai (17058) on Aug. 28 diverted via Secunderabad–Kazipet–Peddapalli bypass–Karimnagar–Armoor–Nizamabad, skipping Secunderabad–Nizamabad.
Partial Cancellations:
Guntakal–Bodhan (57411) on Aug. 28 will run only up to Kacheguda, with the Kacheguda–Bodhan section cancelled.
Kacheguda–Medak (57301) on Aug. 28 cancelled between Medchal–Medak.
In a press release, SCR Chief Public Relations Officer A. Sridhar said the disruptions were due to safety concerns caused by flooding of tracks, and restoration efforts are underway.
