KFRC Hosts Symposium on Translational Research, Genomics and Emerging Technologies (CONVERGE 2025)

KIMS Foundation and Research Centre (KFRC), the research arm of KIMS Hospitals, organized a one-day symposium on “Translational Research, Genomics and Emerging Technologies” (CONVERGE 2025) at the KIMS Auditorium

Hyderabad: KIMS Foundation and Research Centre (KFRC), the research arm of KIMS Hospitals, organized a one-day symposium on “Translational Research, Genomics and Emerging Technologies” (CONVERGE 2025) at the KIMS Auditorium.

KFRC operates as an autonomous research organization engaged in pioneering projects in stem cell–based regenerative medicine, biomarker discovery, liquid biopsy, molecular genetics, teleradiology, and neurobiology. With plans to diversify, KFRC is also exploring opportunities in the field of medical devices. Its mission is to advance medical science through innovative research and academic collaborations, with the ultimate goal of bringing advanced and affordable solutions into patient care.
The symposium was graced by eminent dignitaries. Dr. G. N. Rao, Founder and Chair of LV Prasad Eye Institute, presided over the event as Chief Guest. Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, CMD of KIMS Hospitals, attended as the Presiding Guest. The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. Ashwin Dalal, Head of Medical Genetics at CDFD.
Dr. Sayeeda Maricar, Principal Scientist at KFRC and Convenor of CONVERGE 2025, welcomed the gathering. Dr. V. Bhujanga Rao, Chairman of KFRC, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting KFRC’s entry into several niche areas of medical sciences. Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao emphasized the importance of continuing research with direct applications that can benefit patients.
In his inaugural address, Dr. G. N. Rao stressed the vital role of translational research in healthcare. He expressed happiness at the diverse research being carried out at KFRC and shared his hope that these efforts would lead to affordable, innovative treatments for patients.
Dr. Ashwin Dalal on his online keynote address emphasized the significance of genetics in understanding and managing diseases.
The symposium drew nearly 100 participants, including clinicians, research scholars, and postgraduate and undergraduate students, who presented their research findings. Senior clinicians from KIMS Hospitals also contributed papers on recent developments. Advanced topics, such as the precision medicine, liquid biopsy for cancer management and application of artificial intelligence in healthcare were discussed.
The event featured both oral presentations and poster sessions, creating a vibrant platform for scientific exchange. The proceedings concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Subhash Kaul, Senior Consultant in Neurology at KIMS Hospitals
