Britain's Prince William and wife Kate met Bhutan's king and queen on Thursday, April 14, with colourful dancers and musicians performing a welcome ceremony at the start of a two-day visit to the tiny Himalayan nation.- The couple hiked up to the spectacular seventh-century Buddhist monastery, perched on the edge of a cliff 3,636 metres high in the Himalayas and known as the Tigers' Nest.
- On Friday, Kate and William will take a six-hour trek to Paro Taktsang, a spectacular Buddhist monastery perched on a cliff edge.
- Bhutan's king helps Kate to light an oil lamp in Thimphu.
- Later the couple will have a private dinner with Bhutan's king and queen.
- The couple had braved the rain to head to an archery competition in the open-air stadium, where they chatted to local people.
