Heavy rain derails Mumbai, water-logging shuts local train services

City residents took to Twitter and reported waterlogging in several localities including Sandhurst Road, Juhu, Khar, among others.

(Photo: Debasish Dey/DC)- The Met Department had alerted Thane and Navi Mumbai municipal corporations on Thursday about heavy rains for the next 48 hours.
- The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is also on high alert in the state due to the prevailing situation.
- Local buses were, however, running and the administration pushed in a few more to help commuters.
- Local train services were also affected and while some trains on the Central line were cancelled in the morning, most of them were running hours behind their schedule. The Western Line services were not disrupted as much. Flights too were delayed.

- As per weather reports, during the next 24 hours, Mumbai is expected to receive more rains
- There is waterlogging between Dadar and Kurla station. Other stations are also waterlogged.
- As per media reports, more than 30 routes of BEST buses have been diverted due to masisve traffic jams along with waterlogging.
- Traffic route between Borivali and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) is jam packed and people are still stuck in the middle of nowhere.
