Actor denies post against superstar
Chennai: Comedy actor ‘Parotta’ Suri approached the city police to ask them to trÂace those responsible for coÂmments against suÂpÂerÂstar Rajinikanth that weÂre attributed to him thÂrÂough a fake Twitter handle and Facebook accoÂunt in his name.
He said in his complaint that as a well-known comedy actor in Tamil filmdom, who had starred with many leading names in films, he was never into social media activism.
“I don’t take part in any public debate and stay away from issuing opinions on general issues. I am not educated enough to understand the working of social media. But recently, theÂre were some reports in the media, saying that I had made some derogatory comments about reÂsÂpected actor RajiÂniÂkÂaÂnth.
It was only then that I started enquiring aboÂut it and found that some people had been using my name in Twitter and FaÂcÂebook and pasÂsiÂng defamatory opinions,” Suri said in his complaint.
Some mischief mongers had started using a Twitter handle, naÂmÂed ‘im_actor_soori’, and an FB acÂcount in the naÂme of ‘soori new’, passing them off as if these were started by Suri.
He said in his complaint that he preferred to stay away from controversies, and now, with these fake representations in the social media networks, he was being forced to be answerable to many people.
He asked the police to help remove these accounts from the social media and take action against those who had started the pages under the guise of his name.
