NASA shares shocking images of changes on Earth over the years

Flooding along the Ganga due to the monsoons has occurred causing a lot of destruction. Over 300 people died and about six million were affected, according to news reports.
Lake Poopo is Bolivia's second largest lake that is drying up at a very fast rate because of drought. The lake is also diverted to be used in mining and agriculture. The last time it dried was in 1994.
The Helheim Glacier has seen a rapid melt after 2001 when the glacier crumbled into smaller glaciers. The retreat towards the source began at about 4 to 7 miles between 2001 to 2005.
Baban Rafi forest has gone from a dark green to yellow because of agriculture. The population in the area has increased four times in 31 years unlike previously.
Iran's Urmia lake has seen colourful change for the worse from green to red. A combination of algae and bacteria make change the colour of the lake which occurs usually when the water evaporates in the summer.
Ice melting over decades is understandable but drastically melting in two years is frightening. The Greenland Ice Sheet has broken into streams, rivers and lakes causing a rise in sea-level.
The shrinking of the Great Salt Lake in Utah is surprising over the last 25 years. The lake has dried up due to drought and while it is surrounded by water earlier, it is landlocked by 2010.
