India's sent a satellite to the moon with Chandrayan 1. The first lunar probe was launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation in October 2008, and operated until August 2009. The mission included a lunar orbiter and an impactor.

India’s last polio case was reported in West Bengal in January 2011 when a young girl was paralyzed by polio. Since then no other such case has been reported.. The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also called Mangalyaan  is a space probe orbiting Mars that was launched on 5 November 2013 by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Apart from that ISRO also launched 20 satellites at the same time which was another huge feat. In fact, the Mangalyaan mission was budgeted at 4.5bn rupees ($74m), which, by Western standards, is staggeringly cheap. (Photo: Facebook)
