- Clark's six-month-old kitten Amelia also sometimes referred to as Tropicat, loves fishing from the boat, walking on the beach and hiking.
- The 34-year-old former bartender quit her job in San Diego in California and was lucky enough to be given a Cal 40 sailboat on the condition that she would document her adventures around the world.
