BJP feels Telangana with KCR much better

Party sources say that Telangana BJP leaders give the first priority to a poll pact with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti.

Hyderabad: BJP leaders from Telangana have proposed three options to the party central leadership on electoral alliances, even as their counterparts in Seemandhra believe that a poll pact with the Telugu Desam is a reality.

Party sources say that Telangana BJP leaders give the first priority to a poll pact with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti. They have proposed that the TRS can be offered a majority of Assembly seats, which means leaving the Chief Minister’s post to the electoral partner.
In return, the BJP will claim more Lok Sabha seats and the BJP-TRS truck will eventually seal the TD-BJP alliance in Seeamandhra region also. “Our alliance (TRS-BJP) will be formidable as both of us fought for separate state,” said a senior leader.
The TRS claims all options are open. TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao asked leaders in party fora to ascertain the people’s views on an alliance with the BJP. Party sources said this is because he wants to keep the Congress on its toes, and use the BJP to do so. But he is worried that alliance with the BJP will anger the minorities.
