Massage parlours raided, 10 held
Hyderabad: The West Zone police raided 15 massage parlours and spa centres, and arrested 10 people.
Tollywood comedian Dhanraj was found at one of the places raided. He told the police that he had come to get his nails cut.
The police booked cases against five establishments in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills under the City Police Act for ‘cross massages’ and indecent activities. Cases were booked against parlours Soul and Affinity in Jubilee Hills, Thai Sabai at Banjara Hills and Sparkle Spa and Paris Spa at Panjagutta.
The cases were booked under Sections 68, 70 and 74 of the Hyderabad City Police Act. West Zone deputy commissioner of police Satyanarayana said that according to the Hyderabad City Police Act cross massages are not allowed.
“As per the Act, men should not massage women and women should not massage men. Five establishments among the 15 we raided were found violating city police rules,” said Satyanarayana.
Police also found young women from the northeastern states employed at the centres in order to attract customers and offer them ‘special services’.
Police officials said the five centres also did not have valid licence from concerned authorities to run the massage parlours. Senior officials said that notices have been issued to the centres warning them not to engage in unlawful activities.
The raid was conducted by a special police party headed by inspector Khaleel Pasha under the supervision of the deputy commissioner of police.
