- Actress Bhumi Pednekar was also spotted at the screening. She is currently working on her second film titled 'Manmarziyan'.
- \"Dhanak is a happy film which I did to remind myself the world is not an altogether bad place, a far cry from my previous directorial Lakshmi which was a gut-wrenching story on trafficking,\" said director Nagesh Kukunoor.

- Stars like Dia Mirza and her husband Sahil Sangha, 'Angry Indian Goddesses' stars Sandhya Mridul and Tannishtha Chatterjee along with Vivek Oberoi attended the screening to show their support.
- At the 65th Berlin International Film Festival in 2015, Dhanak participated in the Generation KPlus section. It won the Crystal Bear Grand Prix for Best Children's Film along with a Special Mention for the Best Feature Film by The Children's Jury for Generation Kplus.
- Hetal Gada also put on her best floral printed skirt that she paired with a bright pink top and a blue necklace.
- Krrish Chhabria, who plays the leading role of a blind boy Chotu, suited up for the premiere.
- Director Nagesh Kukunoor called on his closest friends from the industry, to join his cast at the first screening of the film.
