Isro chief thanks God for success of GSLV mission

Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), Dr K. Radhakrishnan offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara.

Tirumala: Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), Dr K. Radhakrishnan offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Monday after the successful launch of GSLV-D5 from the Satish Dhawan Space Research centre at Sriharikota on Sunday.

The Isro chairman, who was on a thanksgiving visit to Tirumala, was accorded a warm welcome by the authorities of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Dr Radhakrishnan later offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara inside the sanctum sanctorum.

Later at the Rangnayakula mandapam, the temple priests rendered blessings on the Isro chief by reciting the Vedasirvachanam. Officials of the TTD handed over the Lord’s prasadams to Dr Radhakrishnan.

The Isro chief was very happy at the success of GSLV launch after a series of failures for the mission last year. Temple Deputy Executive Officer Chinnamgari Ramana, reception official Damodaram assisted the Isro chief when he visited the Tirumala temple.
