Star Screen Awards: Vidya, Rajkummar, Irrfan winners at star-studded event

Rajkummar Rao won two awards at the event. He won the Best Actor(Critics) for ‘Newton’ and Best Supporting Actor for ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi.’ His film ‘Newton’ also won the Best Film.
Vidya Balan arrived for the event with her husband, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and mother Saraswathy Balan. She won the Best Actress award for ‘Tumhari Sulu’.
Salman Khan didn’t win any award at the event, but did put up an entertaining performance, grooving to some of his hits.
Irrfan Khan won Best Actor (Popular Choice) award for his performance in the film ‘Hindi Medium.’ The film was critically acclaimed and also went on to be a big hit at the box office.
Kriti Sanon came out in style in a mermaid gown. The actress didn’t receive any award but her film ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, for which she earned acclaim, won several awards.
Director-couple Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari were among the big winners at the event. The former won Best Director for ‘Dangal’ and the couple won Best Dialogues together for ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi.’
Pritam Chakraborty won Best Music for ‘Dangal’ and also the award for Best Background Music.
Neha Dhupia won the Best Supporting Actress for her role in Vidya Balan starrer ‘Tumhari Sulu.’
Aparshakti Khurrana won Best Debut (Male) for ‘Dangal.’ He arrived for the event with wife Akriti. Shashaa Tirupati won the Best Debut (Female) for ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.’
Tiger Shroff looked dapper in a suit, posing for cameras at the event. He is currently shooting for ‘Baaghi 2.’
Bhumi Pednekar had a great year with the successes of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ opposite Akshay Kumar and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
Zaira Wasim also had a great year, with the successes of ‘Dangal’ (December 2016) and ‘Secret Superstar’, both with Aamir Khan.
Madhuri Dixit Nene looked stunning in a saree. She is all set to reunite with Anil Kapoor on ‘Dhamaal 3.’
Gulzar penned the lyrics of Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ earlier this year. While he is not directing films any more, his daughter Meghna is helming ‘Raazi’ starring Alia Bhatt.
Divya Khosla Kumar upped her ethnic game as she arrived for the event. The filmmaker recently starred in a short film.
RS Prasanna directed the successful ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead.
Krishika Lulla also had a great year with the success of ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ and ‘Newton’ for their production house.
Ravi Chopra’s wife Renu and sons Abhay and Kapil produced the successful ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ this year. Abhay also turned director with ‘Ittefaq’ starring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha.
Ramesh Taurani is currently in the news for the film ‘Race 3’ starring Salman Khan, among others.
Chunky Pandey will next star in Prabhas-Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Saaho'. He is also currently in the news for his daughter Ananya’s debut at a prominent French festival.
Arjun and Mehr Rampal arrived together for the event. The actor turned producer with the biopic on Arun Gawli earlier this year.
Shreyas Talpade arrived with wife Deepti for the event. Shreyas had an eventful year, turning director with ‘Poster Boys’ and tasting success with ‘Golmaal Again.’
Swara Bhasker earned critical acclaim for ‘Anaaarkali of Aarah’ last year. She will next be seen in ‘Veere Di Wedding.’
Aftab Shivdasani looked great with wife Nin Dusanjh. The couple had officially got married in Sri Lanka this year.
Diana Penty flaunted a new haircut in a shiny gown. The actress will be seen in ‘Parmanu: Story of Pokran’ opposite John Abraham next.
