The music of the film has already topped the charts and the lead pair's combined pull with the youth has ensured that the film is among the most highly anticipated films of the season.
Varun was last seen in brother Rohit Dhawan's 'Dishoom'.
Alia had a phenomenal 2016, with two critically acclaimed performances in 'Udta Punjab' and 'Dear Zindagi'.
'Badrianth Ki Dulhania' is Shashank's second feature in the 'Dulhania' franchise.
The two have earlier starred in two successful films, their debut venture- Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year,' and Shashank's own 'Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania'.
