Misri An Honest Diplomat, Says Asad Owaisi
AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi slams trolls targeting Misri following the government's ceasefire announcement with Pakistan.

AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has come out in defense of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, condemning the online trolls targeting the seasoned diplomat following the government's announcement of a ceasefire with Pakistan. Misri, who has been the face of the government in briefings on Operation Sindoor, was criticized by some after the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. Owaisi emphasized that Misri, along with other officials like Colonel Sophiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, played a key role in articulating India’s position during the tense security situation.
In a post shared on social media platform X, Owaisi stated, "Mr Vikram Misri is a decent and an honest hard-working diplomat working tirelessly for our Nation." He further highlighted the essential role that civil servants play under the direction of the executive and criticized those blaming them for decisions taken by the political leadership.
Owaisi’s comments came after a series of online attacks targeted Misri, questioning his role in the diplomatic efforts surrounding Operation Sindoor. The ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan had drawn both praise and criticism, particularly regarding the role of diplomats and military officials involved in the talks.
The AIMIM leader's defense of Misri underscores a broader conversation about the role of civil servants in shaping and implementing government policies. Owaisi’s post also calls for a broader recognition of the hard work and dedication shown by civil servants who, according to him, should not be blamed for political decisions made at the highest levels of government.
