The investigation revealed that the video was originally from April 2021, when Allahbadia had tested positive for COVID-19

New Delhi: A video of podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia crying inconsolably and speaking about his work being impacted was recently shared on social media. Users claimed it was his reaction to the recent controversy over his remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India’s Got Latent.

However, the PTI Fact Check Desk found this claim to be false. The investigation revealed that the video was originally from April 2021, when Allahbadia had tested positive for COVID-19, leading to a temporary halt in his team’s work. Despite this, social media users shared the nearly three-year-old video with a false claim, presenting it as recent.
