Why Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi Were Chosen for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana

The reasons behind casting Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film Ramayana are interesting. The Barfi actor was chosen for his serene presence, innocent charm, and his ability to evoke emotions, as explained by casting director Mukesh Chhabra.

Why Sai Pallavi? She was selected for her natural beauty and simplicity, and for avoiding glamorous roles and cosmetic enhancements. The makers felt that she conveys a message that natural beauty is more authentic.

Starring Yash as Ravana, the star cast is nothing short of spectacular. Sunny Deol will play Lord Hanuman, while Kajal Aggarwal plays Mandodari. Joining them are Lara Dutta (Kaikeyi), Rakul Preet Singh (Surpanakha), Vivek Oberoi (Vidhyutjiva), and Ravi Dubey (Lakshman). The first part is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, with the second part following in Diwali 2027.
