Why Prabhas’ The Raaja Saab Pre-Release at Kaithlapur Grounds

Recent incidents at film-related gatherings have raised serious concerns over public safety. During the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4, 2024, a stampede tragically claimed the life of 35-year-old M. Revathi and left her nine-year-old son, Sritej, critically injured. Incidentally, Hyderabad police filed a chargesheet on Saturday naming Allu Arjun, the theatre management, and security staff among 23 accused for lapses in crowd control on December 27, 2025. The same day as the event is happening.

Similarly, on September 27, 2025, a massive stampede at actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay’s political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, resulted in 41 deaths and dozens injured due to inadequate crowd management.

In another alarming incident, actress Nidhhi Agerwal, the heroine of The Raja Saab, was mobbed by fans at Lulu Mall in Hyderabad on December 17, 2025, during a song launch event. The Kukatpally police registered a suo motu case against the mall management and event organisers for conducting the programme without permission.

In light of these events, the producers and event organisers have undertaken careful planning and evaluation of potential venues across Hyderabad over the past ten days. After consultations with authorities, Kaithalapur Grounds was finalised as the safest and most feasible option. Attendance has been capped at 8,000, with strict adherence to security protocols, venue capacity, and public safety considerations.

While they initially thought about Ramoji Film City, that had to be dropped as it was unavailable due to ongoing film shoots and set occupation. Other options like GMR Arena, a 15-acre open land near ORR, land near the Statue of Equality, LB Stadium and Police Grounds in the city limits were all considered, but they couldn’t choose the venues as they were prefixed events already happening, or the connectivity, approach roads, traffic flow concerns and security feasibility limitations were also an issue.

After reviewing all options and detailed police feasibility assessments, Khaitalapur Grounds was approved as the most suitable and safest available venue, with a restricted crowd capacity.

As per the Shreya Media X account timeline, they are sharing regular updates, traffic advisories and requesting fans to use public transport to come to the venue. Fans without valid passes are requested to follow the celebrations through live coverage on official digital platforms. They have also requested that senior citizens, parents with children, and people with health issues are strongly advised not to attend the event.
