The allegations, posted by a user named Ramya Mohan, claimed that Sethupathi was involved in a toxic culture within the Kollywood film industry, including drugs, manipulation, and casting couch practices.
The accuser alleged that a woman, now a known media personality, was exploited by Sethupathi and is currently in rehabilitation. These posts were later deleted by the user.
In response, Vijay Sethupathi, during a media interaction for his new film Sir Madam, categorically denied the allegations, calling them baseless and "filthy." He stated that those who know him would not take such claims seriously and suggested the accuser was seeking attention.
Sethupathi also mentioned that his team has filed a complaint with the cybercrime unit, noting that he has faced similar smear campaigns for seven years. The allegations have caused distress to his family and close friends.
Sethupathi is known for many box-office hits like Vikram and Uppena.
