Sreeleela-Tilak Varma Link-Up Rumours False, Says Actor's Mother
Sreeleela's mother clarified that Sreeleela is currently focused on academics and her acting career and has no plans regarding relationships or marriage.
Rumours linking actress Sreeleela with cricketer Tilak Varma are completely false and baseless, according to Dr. Swarnalatha, noted gynecologist and Sreeleela’s mother.
“These rumours are absolutely false and have no truth in them,” Dr. Swarnalatha said. “We do not know how such stories emerge. There is not even an iota of truth in reports claiming that Sreeleela and Tilak Varma have been seeing each other for the past year. It is purely a figment of imagination.”
She clarified that Sreeleela is currently focused on academics and her acting career and has no plans regarding relationships or marriage.
“She is preparing for her NEET-PG examination scheduled in June. Right now, her concentration is entirely on studies and films. She has another five to six years ahead for such personal matters and is balancing both academics and career very well,” she added.
Speculation around the two had gained momentum after a few incidents triggered discussions on social media. One of the key talking points emerged during the Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations in December 2025. Sreeleela had visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple along with her mother, while Tilak Varma was also reportedly present with his family around the same time.
Another incident that fueled gossip occurred during a T20 World Cup match at Wankhede Stadium, where Sreeleela attended the game, and a member of her team was allegedly seen wearing a jersey linked to Tilak.
“Both incidents were purely coincidental and nothing more to it. However, social media unnecessarily creates stories out of unrelated events, which is unfair,” she said.
Dr. Swarnalatha also recalled that Sreeleela was earlier linked with Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan after they began working together in Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic drama.
“Kartik Aaryan’s mother and I are both gynecologists and meet professionally because of our medical background. Unfortunately, people began linking Sreeleela and Kartik as well,” she said.
She concluded by saying that Sreeleela is currently taking a brief break before signing her next project.
“We are looking for the best roles and do not mind waiting for the right opportunities,” she said.
