Singer Mangli Rubbishes Cheating Allegations

The issue surfaced after complaints alleged that some individuals used Mangli’s name and popularity to gain investors’ trust and promote a scheme promising high returns

Popular Telugu folk and playback singer Mangli has denied allegations linking her to a ₹10 crore microfinance fraud, saying the claims are false and intended to damage her reputation.

The issue surfaced after complaints alleged that some individuals used Mangli’s name and popularity to gain investors’ trust and promote a scheme promising high returns. Viral videos and reports further fueled the controversy, with some even suggesting the involvement of her brother, Shiva.

Dismissing the allegations, Mangli said, “The claims circulating about my involvement in a ₹10 crore fraud are completely baseless. I have no connection with these microfinance traders or their business operations.” She added that any association with the individuals in question was purely professional, limited to stage performances and event appearances.

Expressing concern over the misuse of her identity, she said, “My brother and I are only approached for professional events. We have nothing to do with their personal businesses or any financial schemes. I request the authorities to take strict action against those responsible.”

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the complaints filed by investors, while Mangli maintains that she is being unfairly targeted and describes the allegations as part of a smear campaign.
