Ranabaali Collections Drop On Day 2 in Telugu States
The collections need to pick up drastically, says distributors

The collections of period drama Ranabaali have reportedly witnessed a dip on the second day in the Telugu states, raising concerns about its box-office prospects. The film has managed to garner a share of just over Rs 5 crore on day two and needs a significant jump to sustain its theatrical run.
“The film has collected a share of over Rs 5 crore on the second day, and the collections need to pick up drastically,” says a distributor. The much-hyped film reportedly opened to a share of Rs 7 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, against net collections of around Rs 9 crore. The distributor attributes the opening to the Vijay Deverakonda–Rashmika Mandanna combination and the buzz generated by the film’s pre-release promotions.
Vijay Deverakonda plays a fearless rebel who takes on the ruthless British in this period drama, with his sword-wielding action and swagger forming a major part of the narrative. “Vijay has carried the film on his shoulders,” the distributor adds.
However, the film has received a mixed response in some centres, raising questions about its performance over the coming days. “It has to perform exceptionally well during the Dasara holidays and shore up its collections,” he points out.
The distributor also feels that the romantic track between Vijay and Rashmika could have been given greater prominence to balance the film’s depiction of British atrocities. “We have seen several Telugu films showcasing the brutality of the British. A stronger romantic track would have been a better option,” he observes.
With Jailer 2 continuing to hold its ground, Ranabaali faces stiff competition at the box office. Vijay Deverakonda has been making efforts to promote the film, including visiting temples in Vijayawada and other places. However, the film needs to sustain its collections and attract more audiences in the coming days. “Vijay is trying hard to promote the film in every possible way, but Ranabaali still has a long way to go,” the distributor concludes.
