The Raja Saab, starring Pan-India super star Prabhas, is all set for a grand theatrical release on January 9, 2026. Directed by Maruthi, this fantasy horror-comedy promises a thrilling mix of supernatural elements, humour, and high-octane drama. As fans eagerly await the fantasy horror-comedy film, reports state that Prabhas took a major pay cut for this film, which is said to be made on an estimated Rs 450 Crore budget.

Prabhas, who usually charges Rs 150 Crore is reportedly said to have taken Rs 100 Crore. It is not clear as to why he took the pay cut, as there is a lot of hype riding on the film.The other major star cast, like Sanjay Dutt, who plays a menacing ghost is said to have been paid Rs 5-6 Crore for his role.
The heroines, Malavika Mohanan received Rs 2 Crore, Nidhhi Agerwal- Rs 1.2- 1.5 Crore, and interestingly Riddhi Kumar was said to have been paid Rs 3 Crore for a pivotal role. Director Maruthi is said to have received Rs 18 Crore for directing this project.
The story of The Raja Saab revolves around Prabhas’ character clashing with dark forces to protect his family, blending fantasy with emotion. The film has already generated immense buzz, receiving a U/A certificate with a runtime of over three hours. Music by SS Thaman plays a vital role in enhancing its grandeur, and songs like Sahana Sahana have gone viral crossing millions of views.
Another important character in the film is veteran actress Zarina Wahab. Prabhas called her “Nannamma” and said that she was also the heroine in the film, while highlighting her importance in the film, during the pre-release event held recently in Hyderabad. Details about her payment are not known as yet.
The trailer showcased spectacular visuals, VFX, gripping performances, and SS Thaman’s soundtrack, which is resonating with the audience and Prabhas’ fans. The Raja Saab is poised to be one of the most-awaited Sankranti blockbusters.
