'NTR for CM' Slogans Purely Out of Fan Enthusiasm, Says Producer
For now, the "CM NTR" slogans remain a passionate expression of fan admiration, while the actor continues to concentrate on strengthening his position as one of Indian cinema's leading stars.
The 103rd birth anniversary of legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was observed with reverence across the Telugu states on Wednesday. As is customary every year, actor Jr NTR paid tribute to his grandfather, he visited NTR Ghat in Hyderabad early in the morning and spent a few moments in silence.
A large number of fans gathered at the memorial to catch a glimpse of the star and pay their respects to the legendary leader. Amid the celebrations, chants of "CM NTR" echoed through the venue, drawing attention once again to the recurring speculation about Jr NTR's political future.
According to a senior producer, the slogans are largely a reflection of fan enthusiasm rather than any indication of the actor's political plans.
"I don't think NTR is considering politics at this stage of his career," the producer said. "He is currently focused on consolidating his position as one of the biggest stars in Telugu cinema and expanding his presence as a pan-India actor. Politics can wait."
The producer noted that similar slogans have been heard during NTR's visits to NTR Ghat in previous years, but they appeared louder this time. Industry observers attribute this renewed enthusiasm partly to recent political developments in neighboring Tamil Nadu, where actor-turned-politician Vijay's rise has inspired fans of several film stars across South India.
"Vijay's success has certainly encouraged fans to dream bigger for their favorite stars," the producer observed. "Whenever a major actor achieves political success, supporters of other stars naturally begin imagining a similar path."
However, he emphasized that fan aspirations and political ambitions are two different things. While Jr NTR enjoys immense popularity and possesses the charisma often associated with successful political leaders, the decision to enter public life ultimately rests with him.
"There's no denying that NTR has a massive fan base and tremendous public appeal," the producer added. "But right now, he has some of the biggest projects of his career ahead of him. His immediate focus appears to be cinema."
