Kona Venkat Reconfirms Release Date Of Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka

Kona shared a picture with Chiranjeevi as well, reinforcing the team's confidence in its release plans.

Rumours about Megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming film Kaaka being put on hold have been dismissed by the film's team. Writer Kona Venkat has clarified that the film is progressing as planned and will arrive in theatres for Sankranthi, putting an end to speculation about a possible delay.

A few days ago, strong rumours circulated in Film Nagar that Chiranjeevi had asked the makers to pause the shoot after noticing similarities between Kaaka and Rajinikanth's blockbuster Baasha. With nearly 70 per cent of the shooting reportedly completed, the buzz suggested that the Megastar was unhappy with certain similarities in the storyline and the film's overall template.

However, Kona Venkat has now rubbished these reports, calling them completely baseless. Taking to social media, the writer clarified that there was no truth in the speculation and even apologised to those who might be disappointed that the rumours had turned out to be false.

He also reiterated that Kaaka is firmly on track for its Sankranthi release and is scheduled to hit theatres on January 13, ahead of Pongal. Kona shared a picture with Chiranjeevi as well, reinforcing the team's confidence in its release plans.

Meanwhile, fresh speculation has emerged about another Chiranjeevi-starrer, Vishwambhara, also eyeing a Sankranthi release. Last month, reports suggested that the film's team was trying to convince the actor to consider a festive release, reportedly due to certain OTT-related conditions.

While Kaaka's team appears firm about its January 13 release, the possibility of two Chiranjeevi films arriving during the same festive season has triggered fresh curiosity among fans and trade circles.
