If industry sources are to be believed, seasoned star Nagarjuna wanted his favourite director Kalyan Krishna to direct his latest film ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ since he is adept in dishing out village-centric movies. “They had a couple of meetings but Kalyan Krishna showed some reluctance since he didn’t want to do a village-based film again. Nagarjuna agreed to his viewpoint and roped in another director Vijay Binni,” says a source, who claims that Kalyan Krishna would have delivered a much better entertainer. “Kalyan Krishna has a lot of knowledge about rural stories, characters and emotional highs but he missed a good opportunity," he adds.
Director Kalyan Krishna would now focus on his upcoming film with megastar Chiranjeevi’s film and readying a script to suit the larger-than-life image of ‘Tagore’ star. “He is designing a wholesome entertainer and looking to begin the shooting after April this year, “ he points out.
Actually, Kalyan Krishna rose to fame with big hits like ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ and ‘Bangarraju’ and another hit movie ‘Rarandoi Veduka Chudam’ with new age actor Nagarjuna and has become very close to the Akkineni family. “He is adept in dishing out family dramas loaded with romance, music and entertainment,” he concludes.
