Kalki to restore theatres glory, says Sunil Narang

Leading exhibitor-distributor Sunil Narang claims that superstar Prabhas starrrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ set to be released on June 27 will change the face of 400-odd theatres in Telangana state. “It will surely restore the glory of theatre viewing experience in Telangana and we would be making up for our bad days,” he says and adds, “Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin have joined hands to dish out a unique and different magnum opus and the audience are definitely looking forward to it. Apart from the two Telugu states, the sci-fi thriller is expected to draw huge openings worldwide. “Prabhas stardom is at its peak and it would be a money-spinner world over for its novel storyline besides enviable casting of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan and Deepika Padukone and others,” he adds. He is distributing the film in Telangana and it will be released in a good number of theatres. “We will release it in maximum number of theaters to capture record openings since it is one of the much-awaited movies this season,” he points out

Talking about ‘partial’ opening of theatres in Telangana on May 25 for two films ‘Raju Yadav’ and ‘Love Me’ in the midst of 10-days bandh, he clarifies, “Most of the theatres will be brimming with activity from May 31st with more films like ‘Gangs of Godavari’ and others. Few films are hitting screens on June 7, so our hopes are brightening up and exhibitors are expected to heave a sigh of relief,” he adds.

The president of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce claims that they have multiple plans like ‘sharing’ revenues with producers and distributors and other plans to sustain theatre run. “We are discussing a few plans that would be beneficial for both producers and exhibitors in the days to come,’ he concludes.
