Heated Exchange Between Jani and Sekhar Master Goes Viral Amid Association Row
The controversy reportedly began after a section of dancers objected to the decisions taken by Sumalatha, president of the Telugu Film and TV Dancers Association and wife of Jani Master.

Tollywood's dance fraternity has found itself in the spotlight after an internal dispute within the Telugu Film and TV Dancers Association spilled into the public domain. Videos showing noted choreographers Jani Master and Sekhar Master engaged in a heated argument at the association's office have gone viral on social media, triggering widespread speculation about a growing rift between the two camps.
The controversy reportedly began after a section of dancers objected to the decisions taken by Sumalatha, president of the Telugu Film and TV Dancers Association and wife of Jani Master. The protesting members alleged that she took unilateral decisions, particularly regarding the conduct of by-elections, without consulting the executive committee or obtaining approval from the Telugu State Film Employees Federation.
As tensions escalated, around 10 office-bearers reportedly resigned from their respective posts in protest, questioning the legality of the proposed by-elections. According to sources, the faction led by Sekhar Master strongly opposed Sumalatha's decision to schedule the polls without following due process or holding wider consultations with members.
The disagreement soon turned into a verbal confrontation, with Jani Master and Sekhar Master seen arguing intensely inside the association office. Videos circulating online also show a few police personnel attempting to calm both groups as the situation threatened to spiral out of control.
Despite the ongoing controversy, both Jani Master and Sekhar Master remain among the most sought-after choreographers in Telugu cinema. Over the years, they have choreographed chartbuster songs for leading stars including Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Mahesh Babu, earning a reputation as two of Tollywood's premier dance directors.
Industry sources say senior members of the film fraternity are now planning to bring both factions together for talks and resolve the dispute amicably. With Telugu dancers enjoying increasing recognition across Indian cinema, industry elders believe an early settlement is essential to prevent the controversy from affecting the careers and reputation of the dance community.
