Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara Eyes Sankranthi Release?

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited Vishwambhara is reportedly eyeing a Sankranthi release, with January 12, 2027, being discussed as a possible date if everything goes as planned.
According to a source, the makers are keen to target the Sankranthi holiday season, believing the socio-fantasy entertainer has the potential to attract family audiences in a big way. “Discussions are underway to release the film on January 12. It is the kind of film that can appeal to audiences from six to 60, making the festival season an ideal window,” says the source.
The team is currently completing the remaining portions of the shoot, with the final schedule expected to be wrapped up by Wednesday. “A few key scenes were canned recently, and the entire shooting part is expected to be completed in the next couple of days,” the source adds.
VFX work is progressing simultaneously, with the team reportedly working against the clock to get the film ready for its intended release window. An official release date is expected to be announced once the production work is completed.
Vishwambhara also marks the reunion of Chiranjeevi and Trisha Krishnan nearly two decades after Stalin (2006). Their pairing is expected to add a nostalgic touch to the fantasy adventure.
Director Mallidi Vassishta recently spoke about the film during Chiranjeevi’s birthday celebrations, describing the opportunity to direct the Megastar as a childhood dream.
With the makers now reportedly considering Sankranthi, Vishwambhara could be positioning itself as one of the major attractions of the 2027 festival season.
