Chiranjeevi Crowns Ram Charan the ‘New Age Megastar’
By publicly acknowledging Ram Charan as the "New Age Megastar," he has not only celebrated his son’s achievement but also signalled a symbolic passing of the torch in Telugu cinema's illustrious Mega legacy.

Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film with director Bobby, attended the success celebrations of Peddi and showered praise on his son Ram Charan for his powerful performance in the film.
Speaking at the event, Chiranjeevi recalled a recent conclave where fans and industry observers referred to Ram Charan as the "New Age Megastar." Much to the delight of fans, the veteran star endorsed the sentiment and hinted that the time may have come for the next generation to take centre stage.
“Perhaps it is time for me to take a back seat, push Charan to the forefront and enjoy the show,” Chiranjeevi remarked, drawing loud cheers from the audience. However, he quickly clarified that his statement did not mean he was retiring from films anytime soon.
The veteran actor also praised Charan’s performance in Peddi, which has earned widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Many fans have described it as an award-worthy performance, with some even suggesting that Charan deserves a National Award for his portrayal. Director Sukumar, who previously worked with Charan in Rangasthalam, had once predicted that the actor was worthy of a National Award for that landmark performance as well.
Reflecting on his son's success, Chiranjeevi said, “Whether one gets an award or not is secondary. What truly matters is earning the love and admiration of the audience. Charan has achieved that with Peddi. Today, I can proudly say that I has become complete actor,"
