Anirudh Faces Mixed Response For Jailer 2 Music
Anirudh has to score more hits and revvie his reputation with Jailer 2.

Tamil composer Anirudh Ravichander, who recently impressed Telugu audiences with his work in The Paradise, is facing a mixed response to his music and background score for Jailer 2. While a few songs have managed to catch attention, the overall response to the jukebox has been divided, particularly given the massive expectations surrounding the sequel.
Anirudh returns to the Jailer franchise after scoring the music for the first instalment. This makes Jailer 2 an interesting challenge for the composer, as he is now competing with the impact of his own previous work.
The music of the original Jailer became an important part of the film’s success. Among the songs, Hukum emerged as a sensational mass anthem and generated tremendous buzz even before the film’s release. The song eventually became closely associated with Rajinikanth’s character and the film’s larger-than-life presentation.
Jailer 2, however, is yet to produce a musical moment on the same scale. The sequel has several tracks, but the initial response indicates that they have not unanimously connected with listeners. Some songs have received attention, while others have struggled to create the kind of instant impact that Hukum achieved.
That puts additional pressure on Anirudh, especially because expectations are naturally higher for a sequel to a blockbuster. More importantly, audiences are now comparing the new music with his own work from the first film.
With Jailer 2 heading for its October 15 release, the focus will now shift to the film’s trailer and promotional campaign. The background score, in particular, will be closely watched, as Anirudh’s music was one of the key elements that elevated the first Jailer.
