Allu Arjun Congratulates Sukumar as Mythri And Vyjayanthi Movies Are Elated

Reigning star Allu Arjun congratulated director Sukumar on winning the National Film Award for Best Original Screenplay for Pushpa 2: The Rule, saying the honour was as special to him as his own National Award.

Taking to X, Allu Arjun, who won the Best Actor National Award for Pushpa: The Rise, wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations to my director @aryasukku garu! Been awaiting this moment. This award means as much to me as mine. In the end, both of us got National Awards for #PUSHPA. Grateful.”

Pushpa 2: The Rule emerged as one of the major winners, with Sukumar taking home the Best Original Screenplay award, while Deepali Noor and Sheetal Sharma won Best Costume Design.

Telugu cinema had a strong showing at the National Film Awards, with Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD winning Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Production Design for Nitin Zihani Choudhary. Committee Kurrollu was named Best Telugu Feature Film, while 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu won Best Children's Film, with Arun Dev Pothula receiving the Best Child Artist award. Lucky Baskhar director Venky Atluri also won Best Dialogue Writer.

Mythri Movie Makers producer Ravi Shankar Yellamanchili expressed his happiness over Pushpa 2: The Rule's recognition. “We are extremely happy to receive these prestigious awards for Pushpa 2: The Rule. The Pushpa franchise has been unique because it has achieved phenomenal commercial success while also earning critical acclaim through National Awards, which is a rare combination,” he said.

He credited Allu Arjun and Sukumar for the franchise's success, adding, “Allu Arjun had already won the National Award for Pushpa: The Rise, and his performance in the franchise has been exceptional. Sukumar deserves immense credit because his innovative screenplay and gripping narrative revolving around red sanders smuggling captivated audiences across the world. These awards are a proud recognition of the team's hard work.”

Vyjayanthi Movies also celebrated Kalki 2898 AD's two National Awards, calling the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment honour “an immensely proud moment” for the production house.

In a statement, the banner said director Nag Ashwin's ambitious vision was brought to life through the collective efforts of the cast and crew. “To be honoured with two National Awards is a significant milestone for everyone associated with Kalki 2898 AD, and a recognition of the creativity and craft that went into its making,” the statement read.

The production house thanked the National Awards jury, Nag Ashwin, the cast and crew, and everyone involved with the film, while expressing confidence about the next chapter of the franchise.

Meanwhile, director Yadhu Vamsi was thrilled after Committee Kurrollu was named Best Telugu Feature Film. “We are on cloud nine. This recognition has boosted our confidence and inspired us to continue telling rooted stories,” he said.

He also thanked producer Niharika Konidela for backing the project. “We are grateful to Niharika garu for believing in our story. The entire cast and crew worked tirelessly to bring this emotional tale of friendship, village life, and relationships to the screen. This honour belongs to all of them,” he added
