Allu Arjun-Basil Joseph Film on Track, but Not Shaktimaan

Fans were excited after reports emerged about a possible collaboration between Allu Arjun and filmmaker-actor Basil Joseph. Speculation quickly gained momentum, with many believing the project could be a big-screen adaptation of the iconic superhero series Shaktimaan. However, fresh clarifications suggest that it is not the case.

Allu Arjun is currently occupied with multiple high-profile projects, including Raaka with Atlee and another film with Lokesh Kanagaraj. Amid these commitments, reports about a film with Basil Joseph created significant buzz among fans.

Director Arun Anirudhan, who helmed Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph’s recent release Athiradi, shed light on the Shaktimaan rumors. He said, “Paulson Skaria and I were writing the screenplay for Basil’s next directorial. Unfortunately, it did not go on the floor. It was supposed to be a massive film, Shaktimaan. I do not know whether it will happen or not; it is quite complicated.”

Speaking about the connection between Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph, Arun revealed that the Telugu star had invited Basil to his brother Allu Sirish’s wedding celebrations. “Allu Arjun invited him. He has seen Minnal Murali, he liked it, and they are in touch,” he said.

He further clarified the ongoing rumors by stating, “No, no. This has no connection to Shaktimaan. That is something different, and all updates will be shared soon.”

Basil Joseph also remained cautious when asked about directing Allu Arjun’s milestone 25th film. “Let it just happen,” he said, while firmly dismissing the Shaktimaan speculation with a simple, “No, bro.”

Meanwhile, actor Mukesh Khanna, who became synonymous with the Shaktimaan character, shared his thoughts on the casting rumors. He said Allu Arjun has the personality and screen presence to fit the role, adding that the actor has the looks and height suitable for portraying the superhero.
