Nagarjuna scores well with village-centric movies

Yet again, seasoned star Nagarjuna dons a color lungi and shirt in his upcoming film ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ as village-centric looks have worked wonders for him. Nagarjuna is known for his urban-centric looks and modern attire in big-ticket movies like ‘Santhosham’ and ‘Manmadhudu’. “He can easily carry off urban-centric roles and look handsome in formal and informal dressing in varied movies. He became a heartthrob of millions of girls and women for his stylized avatar and fit physique,” says a producer and adds, “Even during photo shoots, he used to insist on novel concepts and looks and worked with many Bollywood fashion photographers in his heydays,” he adds.

However, he changed his avatar, became a down-to-earth village head in “Soggade Chinni Nayana, " and won the audience's appreciation. “His big transformation from a swanky look to a dhoti-clad man altered his image and he became a household name in Telugu states since most Telugu people don dhotis and shirts in rural towns. Hence they owned up Nagarjuna's rustic avatar," he points out. Nag followed it up with another village-based movie ‘Bangarraju’; his traditional looks were appreciated and the film rocked the box office.“He rides a bullet with a flamboyant smile amidst green fields and woos village belles in style to become a perfect star for rustic entertainers,” he adds.

Usually, Tamil stars prefer to wear dhoti and shirts in their movies, while Nagarjuna adopted it and created his style with his colorful attire. “Naa Saami Ranga” will reiterate his traditional image and could give him the much-needed success like his previous village-based movies,” he concludes.
