After working in a handful of Tamil films, actor Mohan Babu is now set to be part of another huge project. This time, the Gayathri star will be part of a film that features Suriya in the lead role.
Sources say that the film’s director Sudha Kongara was on the lookout for a seasoned actor who is famous across the South. Moreover, since it is a big role and unique in its own way, she needed someone versatile.
The filmmakers approached Mohan Babu for the part, and the actor, after listening to the narration, agreed to come on board. Apparently, his unique character sketch and gripping script was the clincher for Mohan Babu.
A source close to the development reveals, “The filmmakers see Mohan Babu as a perfect choice for the part. They believe his extensive experience will elevate the role as well as the film’s emotional appeal.”
While his role has been kept under wraps, it is speculated that he may play the villain.
The project, which will be produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment, is expected to go on the floors in October. G.V. Prakash Kumar will provide tunes for the film, which is slated to be a period drama.
