Ram Mohan, the new FDC chairman
On Monday, the Telangana State government announced P. Ram Mohan Rao as the Chairman of the Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TSFDC). His name has been doing the rounds from the last couple of years as he is very close to CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s family. Ram Mohan Rao is also active in the Telugu film industry as he has produced and distributed many films. He also worked as Censor Board member earlier and is presently the President of the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce.
“I specially thank Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao garu for appointing me and will work towards the development of the film industry in Telangana with the help of the government,” said Ram Mohan Rao, adding that the film industry is worried about the rate of entertainment tax GST fixed at 28 per cent. “We already gave our representation to the Central Finance Minister a few months ago. Our State Finance Minister Rajender garu met the Central Minister on May 3 and we again gave our representation to him,” he said.
The new Chairman also announced that in the coming three months, all the cinema halls in Telangana will have online booking. “The FDC is going to control online booking and the process has already begun,” he stated.
