The Telugu Film Industry is excited about Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s announcement regarding Visakhapatnam becoming a capital city. Many film personalities own huge tracts of land in and around Vizag, and want to develop these now.
Suresh Babu has built Rama Naidu Studios there and also owns lands in the area. So does Chiranjeevi, and according to rumours, he wants to build a film studio too. His brother-in-law Allu Aravind also has land in the area, and is now focussing on the real estate and construction business at Vizag.
Director Puri Jagannadh hails from Visakhapatnam district, and is obviously happy about the announcement. Directors Rajamouli and Maruthi and actress Anushka Shetty have also bought land in the area. Nandamuri Hari Krishna and some of his relatives invested in real estate at Vizag a long time ago. “There is a rumour that a top multiplex owner of Hyderabad is planning to build a multiplex in Vizag partnering with a top actor,” says a source.
Vizag is also home to many technicians in the film industry. Dil Raju belongs to Hyderabad, but owns many theatres in Visakhapatnam.
