Pawan Kalyan defers “Hari Hara Veera Mallu' for political gains?
Superstar Pawan Kalyan reportedly has a strong reason to defer the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ and give more priority to regular commercial films like 'Bro', ‘OG’ and ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ for the last three years. Contrary to the rumors that he has differences with director Krish Jagarlamudi or he was unhappy with the changes in the script, the star-turned-politician is purposely holding back the period adventure due to impending elections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
“It is more of a political decision than anything else. After becoming a politician, his choice of movies has changed a bit. He is determined to win a good number of seats for the Jana Sena Party in Andhra Pradesh, riding on his popularity, and also wants to grab some seats in Telangana state, so he is postponing ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ since it would affect his vote bank calculations,” says a source.
He further claims that the ‘Gabbar Singh star is wrapping up his other films like ‘OG’ and ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ since they were regular action films. “These two films are usual action dramas since he essays the role of a gangster in ‘OG’ and a tough cop in ‘Ustaad..’ and they don’t have any political overtones, so he is rushing up with those movies,” he adds.
When it comes to ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’, is inspired by a real-life story and revolves around the legendary outlaw Veera Mallu belonging to the 17th century and who ruled the roost in the Mughal era.
“He was a rebellious and daredevil thief who took on the might of the Mughals during their period. With Mughals being depicted as his opponents and also showing their ruthlessness could dent his vote bank. He also defeats their plans many a time with his brawn and brain, so Pawan wants to go slow on the film unwilling to lose the minority vote which is a good chunk in AP and Telangana. In all probability, the film could hit the screens only after all elections including Parliament in 2024," concludes the source.
