The new baddie in town

We are told that the makers found it difficult to convince Ramesh for the role of an antagonist.

Having played a protagonist in a handful of Tamil films, Jithan Ramesh will be seen as an antagonist in a forthcoming Tamil–Telugu bilingual, Nireekshana. Directed by Vamsi Krishna Malla, the action thriller features Ramesh in the role of a psychopath killer.

We are told that the makers found it difficult to convince Ramesh for the role of an antagonist.

“Initially I thought I’d cast Ramesh as the protagonist, but after doing a screen test, I realised his eyes could portray a killer’s looks. So I thought he would be perfect for the role of the antagonist,” reveals Vamsi Krishna.

Ramesh, the older son of renowned producer R. B. Choudary had debuted as a hero in Telugu with the 2004-film, Vidyardhi. He came on board for Nireekshana after listening to the complete story.

“I wanted to give him a makeover with this film. Also, the antagonist in my film had to be very intense, and I felt Ramesh would be perfect for the part. Also, his looks will bring a fresh appeal to the villain’s role. And he has delivered an outstanding performance,” adds the director.
