So far, Telugu and Tamil audiences have seen Anjali in chirpy and simplistic roles. But in her forthcoming film Nishabdh (Silence), the actress is set to spring a surprise. The actress will be seen in the role of a Seattle cop in the Hemant Madhukar directorial.
Anjali’s role will be a refreshing one as well as a surprise package to the audience. A source informs, “Anjali plays a ferocious cop in the adventure drama. She has also performed a couple of action sequences that’ll stand out in the film.”
Anjali, has also prepped up to transform herself for the part.
“She had to shed a few kilos for the role. She has also been researching to get the body language of Seattle cops right,” adds the source.
Bankrolled by Vishwa Prasad and Kona Venkat, the film, which stars Madhavan and Anushka Shetty in lead roles, is expected to release on January 24.
