There are reports that former lead actress Vani Viswanath may join politics soon and that she may contest in the upcoming elections opposite former actress Roja. The Telugu Desam Party is reportedly trying to rope in Vani Viswanath specifically to checkmate Roja.
Vani, once popular as a glamorous actress, starred opposite some of the big stars of her time, including Chiranjeevi. She made a comeback with the recent film Jaya Janaki Nayaka after many years. The yesteryear actress has acted in all the South Indian languages and a few Hindi films too. On the other hand, Roja is a strong voice for the YSRCP and raises her voice on many issues. The TDP cadre feels that it is better to put up another actress to counter Roja, and hence came up with Vani Viswanath’s name, say the reports.
