Sensational director Anil Ravipudi who delivered smashing hits like ‘F2’ and ‘Sarilerru Neekevvaru’, is reportedly seeking a share in profits for his upcoming film “Bhagavanth Kesari’ starring seasoned star Balakrishna and Kaajal Agarwal. “Apart from his huge remuneration, he has sought a share in profits from producers of the big ticket film. Negotiations are going on,” says a source. Agreed that Anil has understood the pulse of the masses and churned out blockbusters.
Usually, in such rosy situations, directors tend to hike their remunerations and Anil also reportedly moved to Rs 12 crore plus bracket like other A-list directors.
“But for this film which has generated a lot of hype and is also shaping up well, he intends to pocket a small chunk of profits in business besides his hefty pay cheque. In fact, he also changed the producers and brought in new ones for the same reason,” the source adds.
If the deal comes through, it could set a new precedent of sorts in Tollywood, with many young directors who are among hits, could also eye share in profits besides their pay?
