Actress Sanjjanaa, who plays a warrior queen in the serial Swarna Khadgam directed by Yata Satya, was recently spotted shooting some action and romantic sequences at the Athirapalli Falls, better known as the Baahubali waterfalls, in Kerala.
“They’re called Baahubali waterfalls as the film was shot here. The producers of the film are making this serial as well, and they have some sentiments attached to the place. Like Baahubali, our serial will also be a big hit,” Sanjjanaa says.
At present, the actress says that she is focussing all her energy on this serial as it is going to be dubbed into several languages. “I play Maharani Mahadatri in the serial. It’s a dream role for me. After the release of the trailer, I have been getting many calls for female-oriented roles,” she says.
She hasn’t signed any other projects because she believes this to be the best role of her career. “Director Satya is Rajamouli’s protégé. He has created one of the best roles and for me. No film could compare to this role, so I want to concentrate on this,” Sanjjanaa says.
After the serial wraps up, she hopes to continue doing such roles on the big screen.
“After the serial is completed, I will concentrate on films that give the female character scope to perform. I want to do a film like Arundhathi or Bhagamathi, which Anushka did. I am awaiting such roles, and I hope I will get them,” the actress says.
