NTR biopic makes history!

M. Venkaiah Naidu attended as the chief guest and did the honours while fans, celebrities and politicians turned up in large numbers.

On Thursday morning, all roads led to Ramakrishna Cine Studios for the launch of the NTR biopic. It was a historic moment in Telugu cinema where legendary actor, NTR’s life story would be shown on the silver screen, with his son Balakrishna enacting the role. Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu attended as the chief guest and did the honours while fans, celebrities and politicians turned up in large numbers.

Interestingly, in 1977, the late NTR had started the mythological film Daana Veera Soora Karna after establishing Ramakrishna Cine Studios in Nacharam. Former TN Chief Minister and actor, the late M.G. Ramachandran had attended as the chief guest along with Jalagam Vengal Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Years later, the makers of this biopic significantly chose the same place to launch their film and even shot in much the same manner like the late NTR had done for his mythological film.

Dressed like Duryodhana, actor Balakrishna walked about and rendered the famous dialogue from Daana Veera Soora Karna with such conviction that onlookers were stunned by the similarities between him and his father.

The entire Nandamuri clan attended the event, including the late NTR’s daughters, Bhuvaneshwari, Purandhareswari and others. “Presidents and Vice-Presidents do not normally come to events like this, but I put aside all formalities because I knew NTR personally and he was a very good friend of mine. He did so many good things for society and people remember him even today. This is the first time that a legendary actor’s life history is coming out as a film and the actor’s son is playing the key role in it,” said Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu.

Interestingly, the ornaments Balakrishna wore in this film were actually worn by his father in Daana Veera Soora Karna. Directed by Teja, the biopic is produced by Vishnu Induri, Korrapati Sai and Balakrishna himself.
