Balayya’s next film in trouble

The cinematographer has been asked to leave while the leading lady Catherine Tresa has allegedly walked out.

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s next film, directed by Boyapati Srinivas and produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy, was launched officially more than a month ago, but shooting is yet to start. Though the cameras were set to roll after Sankranti, there has been no word about it so far. Boyapati’s mother passed away a few days back and he is away at his home town. The cinematographer Ram Prasad was reportedly axed because Balakrishna didn’t want to work with him, citing the flop of Ruler. According to a source, Balakrishna was unhappy with the way Ram Prasad had filmed him in the earlier movie! And they are finding it very tough to replace him.

“The makers approached a few other cinematographers but no one is willing to work on this project,” said the source, hinting that many are averse to working with Balakrishna.

There are also reports that the female lead, Catherine Tresa, has walked out of the film, and the makers are now saddled with the task of identifying another actress for the part. “It is still not known why Catherine didn’t want to work in this film, though the makers agreed to pay her `1 crore,” added the source.

However, they feel replacing an actress is not a big deal as there are many options, but a good cinematographer is difficult to find — many are simply refusing to work on this film!
